I took a hike up the beaver brook trail on May 25, 2008. The pictures are very pretty . . . the hike itself was one of the most difficult I've ever had. It was near vertical in places, and we came across a lot of unexpectedly deep snow still lurking in the shadowy parts of the trail. The summit held a breathtaking view, however the descent was long, arduous, slick, and ultimately more dangerous given our exhaustion. Beautiful weather, and spectacular views usually are a worthwhile payoff, however, this time, I think it would have been wiser to turn back when we found the snow.
Live and learn. Enjoy the pictures.
